Meet Joey:
John Owen “Joey” Parish is a Dallas-based drummer and craftsman specializing in drums built for the church. With more than 25 years of experience touring and recording with artists such as Shane & Shane, Phil Wickham, Chris Tomlin, and Matt Maher, Joey has spent much of his life behind the kit—learning not just how drums sound, but what they’re meant to do.
Over time, that experience led to a clear conviction: in worship, drums are at their best when they support congregational singing—guiding time, shaping dynamics, and helping carry the song rather than competing with it. Yet most modern drums are designed for projection and volume, not for the rooms where most churches gather. Parish Drums was born out of that tension.
Each instrument is built to deliver rich, full tone with a naturally controlled presence—sitting comfortably in the room, supporting the band, and serving the voice of the church. The result is a set of drums that feels inspiring to play, fits beautifully in the space, and helps lead worship without overwhelming it.
